"I am part of The Game Assembly’s internship program. As per the agreement between the Games Industry and The Game Assembly, neither student nor company may be in contact with one another regarding internships before April 15th. Any internship offers can be made on April 27th, at the earliest."
This was my second Portfolio piece that I did at The Game Assembly. The goal was to follow a full AAA workflow for making a character, and this step was the Hairgroom. I made haircards in Fibershop, a custom shader in Unreal and a hairgroom in Blender.
I had previously worked on this hairstyle in the autumn of 2025 but wanted to improve it for the final piece. It was fun learning more about how hair grooming works and how to optimize it for games, as well as how a hair shader is built up.
In this project I worked with the wonderful animators Lisa Martijn and Anders Nilsson, who made the rig and animations respectively for my character model, they were a huge help during my project and helped me along the way to improve my model to be better suited for animation.

I’d also like to thank my Mentor Eva Sophie Cringle who was a huge help during the process. I am so happy and thankful I was able to get insights and feedback from her, without her I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I did.

I would lastly like to thank Giulia Carli, her concept art was the inspiration for this project, I am ever honored that I got to make a model based on her amazing work.

This project was started december 2025 and fully finalized in April 2026, it’s taken up a large part of my life this half year and I’m happy to see it finalized.
